Can someone please explain to me the whole education system in the United Kingdom?
I am from Ireland but it is quite different here, with the primary and secondary schools and junior and leaving cert CERT.
Basically, I ask myself with every step, from where you are four to 19 or whatever, like every year, that is the school that you (as a primary or secondary) and that the state examination that you made in the year.
Sorry if I encounter a rude or stubborn, but I’m really curious.
Thank you to everyone who answered the question!
will also change through education England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland?
Thanks again!
You start in “reception” when you are four. This is your first year in primary school. Then go to Year 1 Year 2 (I think you make your first sitting for this year), 3 years, 4 years, 5 and 6 years (you need six years SAT). It’s the end of primary school. They would 11 years by this point.
You can then switch to the secondary school. In Year 7 (first year of secondary education), you need CATS tests. They are testing to see what kind of level you are working. Then go to year 8 and year 9 (year 9, you need more SAT). Then you go to year 10, and then restart your GCSEs. Depending on what you need for GCSE, there are various tests and training modules during your GCSE course of two years. At the end of your second year of GCSE (year 11), it is final, which will be your final grade. At this point, are at the age of 16.
You can legally leave school and start working. If you do not want to, either at the high school (grade 12 and 13 to go to school) or go to the university (an institution very different.)
In your first year in high school will be reviewed on the topics you have selected. These tests are A2. You can then topics that you submit do not think that you succeed at least one level. In year 13 you have your A-level exams. If you are not good in this the year you can go 14 times or go to college.
Therefore, it is your choice. Work, university or whatever.
