What should I include in letter of appeal to have student financial aid be reinstated?

I’m usually a really great student, but this past semester I stopped attending school early on in the semester. It was because I wasn’t really feeling the classes and for some reason had a change of heart about going to school that semester. Now I’m really excited and determined to go back to school and get back on track to get my 2yr college degree. I’ve already registered for 4 classes for the upcoming fall semester.

Basically, my application for financial aid got denied and I received a letter saying that I must fill out an “Academic Progress Eligibility Appeal Form”. The following questions are asked:

1.) Describe the specific reasons why you did not meet the Satisfactory Academic Progress Requirements in the previous semesters.
2.) Describe the specific changes that you have made or will make to ensure that the requirements will be met in the future.

You need to flat out tell them the truth why you feel below on the progress (you stopped going to classes). Then you need to tell them exactly what your plan is to keep yourself focused on going to school until your finished. Being excited right now is not a good enough plan. Most of the time when people fill out an appeal form its because they missed a test, didnt get the info, didnt study good enough etc.. normally its not because they stopped going early on in the semester. So your going to have to come up with a good plan. Like how are you going to keep everything organized so you know when your tests are at all times and what the tests cover (are you going to have an actual planner, but a organizer on your phone etc…). What about studying are you going to join study groups, get a tutor for your hard classes, maybe go and talk to your instructor once a week over information your confused on (or just to see if your understanding the material correctly). These are things you want to put down. You also need to find something that will help you keep your interest in school so you continue going to classes.

Do keep in mind though just because you fill this out doesnt mean you get aid back. Normally the ones who can get aid back are the ones who had something major happen to them and they have proof (was in the hospital and missed a major test, child died, something to this extent that effects them directly)
